BOZEMAN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
COMING SUMMER 2023
BIG SKY DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL
Helena, MT- To serve as an example of what the "vibe" of the film could be, we produced a mini-documentary about the breweries in Helena, Montana. If you're a fan of brews made in our state's Capital City, than grab your beverage and enjoy this little story! (Run time: approx. 22 minutes)
Our wide-open, picturesque landscapes invite a lifestyle of freedom here to enjoy the outdoors. It's no wonder why Montana has been able to attract folks from all over the globe; we offer world-class outdoor adventure in all 4 seasons; in clean, fresh mountain air and in crystal-clear waters.
And it is the water here that is making Montana famous for a completely different reason: it's the first ingredient to Award-Winning, Montana-made craft beer!
According to the Brewers Association 2020 statistics, Montana's craft beer industry is among the top in Breweries per Capita (12.4, ranks 3rd in the Nation), Economic Dollar Impact per Capita ($627.69, ranked 6th) and Gallons Brewed per Legal [21+] Adult (7.1, 7th). The boom in the craft beer industry in Montana is evident, as we've seen new breweries popping up in every major city and even the smallest populated rural areas of the state.
"The Montana Brewery Passport" (a working title) is an expository story about the craft beer industry in the Treasure State. You'll see every brewery in state, meet their brewers, see their place of business and witness the craft of producing Montana's best beer. You'll also get to meet the hop farmers and maltsters growing ingredients here in Montana; and we'll hear first hand how each brewery navigates the current laws the state requires them to operate under.
We're interviewing every single brewery in the state (100 as of 7/27/21). Our goal for the film is that the viewer will feel entertained, educated, and ultimately inspired to jump into the car and drive out to visit breweries all across Big Sky Country.
Along our journey, we'll follow the progress of a brand new Montana brewery, who has begun construction. Will they be able to meet the challenges head on and make it to their Grand Opening Day?
Written, Produced and Directed by Brad Ouldhouse, who is also shooting and editing this film.
